Recycle Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics, Appliances & Tires at Clean Sweep on October 2 & 3
Walworth County will host its annual household Clean Sweep recycling events on Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3, at Walworth County Public Works, W4097 County Road NN, Elkhorn. No registration is required.
What's Accepted & When?
Friday, October 2: Household Hazardous Waste
On Friday, October 2, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., residents may dispose of household hazardous waste, including items labeled caustic, acid, flammable, danger, warning, or poison. Examples include:
- nicotine vape devices
- rechargeable/lithium batteries
- oil- and lead-based paints
- pesticides and herbicides
- adhesives and lubricants
- old fuel
- fluorescent bulbs
- mercury thermometers
- furniture strippers
- cleaning chemicals
- antifreeze
- motor oil
Items should be in their original containers, if possible. View a full list of acceptable household hazardous waste.
Saturday, October 3: Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics, Appliances & Tires
On Saturday, October 3, from 8 a.m. to noon, residents may dispose of household hazardous waste, electronics, appliances, and tires. Find a full list of acceptable e-waste.
Fees
Household hazardous waste is free to recycle. Most appliances, electronics, and computers can be recycled for free. The following items have small fees (cash only):
- All TVs: $10 each
- Monitors: $5 each
- Mini fridges, small AC units, and dehumidifiers: $5 each
- Refrigerators and freezers: $10 each
- Tires with 20-inch rims or smaller may be recycled: $5 each for tires without rims and $10 each for tires with rims.
